Orchard Etiquette:

We want everyone to enjoy their picking experience, and be safe at the same time.

- Please drive S-L-O-W-L-Y ! There are other pickers and children on foot.

- Please watch your step and wear shoes suitable for the "un-manicured" outdoors. There can be spots of ruts, holes, and uneven ground (usually due to varmints).

- Please keep your feet firmly on the ground. All of our trees are of the dwarf variety, making the peaches easily accessible. Climbing on the branches can cause damage to the tree and we wouldn't want anyone getting hurt!

- Please supervise your children, for their safety. No climbing, throwing fruit or running through the orchard.

- Please stay within the orchard grounds. We understand people like to explore surrounding areas but we have many dangerous farm implements and tools that can be hazardous to your health.

Squeezing Peaches

Most consumers are accustomed to grocery store peaches that are hard, under ripe and have been kept in cold storage for several weeks. Therefore, they can take a lot of abuse. Picking a ripe peach fresh from the tree is a different story. I wish peaches were more like sponges, allowing them to bounce back when squeezed. Unfortunately, every time a peach is "tested" for it ripeness by being squeezed, it will leave bruises the shape of finger tips, resulting in a crop of damaged fruit. Not to mention, the marks it leaves on the peaches you've picked to take home. There are several methods to picking a ripe peach without applying excessive forces. :) If you need help finding or determining what a ripe peach looks like, just ask us and we'll be happy to assist you!

Sampling Peaches

We realize you'd like to sample before you buy and we welcome you to try one, but eating the peaches excessively is no different than stealing (try it at Safeway). Most seasons a peach can weigh up to and over a pound a piece. That's a dollar a peach in most cases. Multiply that by the 600+ customers who frequent the farm and it starts to greatly effect our revenues, which determines whether our small, family run orchard, can cost effectively stay in business for all to enjoy. Please help keep our prices down. We know our peaches are delicious and addicting but if you need to sample more than one.....feel free to do so, after you purchase them. Thank you!!
